One Second Everyday

It’s so easy to get caught up in the stress and busyness of life. If you’re anything like me, the days just start melding together, and it takes a conscious effort to find time to appreciate the little things and celebrate progress. Often, I become so focused on the future that I allow the present to pass right by.
.
I’ve never been big on making new year’s resolutions, but in 2013 I’ve decided to make a conscious effort to find joy in the smaller moments in life and take the time to embrace both the challenges and joys each day brings. Notice how that isn’t a very concrete goal? Any improvement will be a success, so it’s basically fail-proof – and that’s my kind of New Year’s resolution!
.
I’m a little late to the game on this one (since there are already over 10K backers at the time of this post) but I’m totally stoked about the 1 Second Everyday app by Cesar Kuriyama. Cesar created the concept for this app based on his experience taking a one second video everyday for a year. He says, “each second has a story,” and that is so true!

Each day, each minute, every second of our lives we are given an opportunity to bless others and make a difference. I wonder how we might spend our days differently if we really took the time to be mindful of this truth. Even something as simple as thinking through my day and taking a quick video to encapsulate a feeling or accomplishment will help me reorient my focus and appreciate each moment more fully. I can’t wait to get started with this app!
.
This project is already fully funded, but if you want to be a part of Cesar’s Kickstarter campaign, you only have a few days left!

Thanks for sharing this – it’s such a great reminder! I’m bummed I missed the Kickstarter – but I can’t wait to get started with this app when it arrives in the app store.
